PERSISTANCE PAYS OFF!!!!

As some of you may have read my post of 3 weeks ago, Part 1, where I found and purchased a $25 Desert Spa chip mounted in a metal ring on top of a brass Las vegas change box.

Well, when I bought that chip, I asked the vendor if he had any other 'casino stuff'. He responded that he thought that he had a matching key chain with the "same" chip. "bought them together".

Ok, I am not tooooo anxious, so I asked where it was. "it's in one of the boxes in the van". Ok, can we look for it? "Nah, it's late and I'm all packed up. I'll have a look and if I find it, come see me next week. I'm here every week till November"
"Can I get your phone number?"
"Nah, don't have a phone"

That cell on his belt must have been a PEZ dispenser!

Ok, the next Saturday, I get there early. It's pouring rain and he's not there. Cleared later in the day, so I went back but no Van. Checked the other spaces and still no luck. Oh well.

Next Saturday, beautiful day but same deal, 'no show'
Oh well, I guess that I'll have to settle for my first find and count my good fortune.

Next Saturday, my wife says "get out of here and go to the market. You have been moping around for 3 weeks! Go see if he shows up"
With a smile, off I go.

Finally he has shown up.
Don't tell him I have been looking for him for 3 weeks.
"Hi, aren't you the guy I bought that casino chip from a while back?"
Looking puzzled, "yah"
"Did you happen to come across the casino chip keychain that you thought you had?"

"DUH, Oh ya, I remember you. It's probably in a box in the van"
Heard that before but today it's 9am!!

"Can we take a look for it"
"Ah, Ok, my wife's with me, she can handle the crowd" (all of 3 people)

4 boxes later, "here it is"

"Ok, how much are you looking to get for a "keychain'"

"I donna know, how much you want to offer"

"$????"

"It's kinda nice condition, how about $???"

"Ok"

I'm outa here with my treasure

For all of you thatthink all the 'good stuff' is gone, just keep looking, as Molder would say, "they are out there"
