The reason I wouldn't tell them what is in it and the reason I wouldn't insure it is to give the package the best opportunity of arriving intact.

If there are 10 chances in 1000 that the package arrives sans chip, 9 of those chances are because you put a large amount of insurance on a very light package. Such a ratio normally indicates jewelry or cash. I do not wish to make my package a target.

I would rather not pay for insurance and not declare it's contents. I want the chip not an insurance payoff.

Granted, I am risking money but I greatly reduce the possibility of the chip(s) getting "lost".
