Depending on where you are, you might want to look at taking the train as well. There is an NJ transit available from 30th street to AC. Nice way to get there. Downside is that only 10 of the casinos are on the boardwalk (you can walk from one to the other - a few miles from Hilton to Showboat). The others are a cab, jitney ride away.
