Here's an adjunct to the vastly entertaining University of Nevada Gaming History program. http://www.unr.edu/artsci/oralhist/ohweb/oralhist.htm I had read Kling/Kings wonderful Harrah book Every Light Was On but couldn't find any information on how to get access to the Oral History Program that published it. A return last week to the gift shop at the Nat'l Automobile Musuem in Reno where I had purchased this book netted me this info as well as finding out about the new Kling/King work about Harold's Club. These two books as well as a dozen more and many oral history transcripts are available through the web site. A sample of the transcripts:
083 William F. Harrah: My Recollections of the Hotel-Casino Industry, and as an Auto Collecting Enthusiast. 1980; 793 pages, no photo pages, $46.
066 Lester Ben "Benny" Binion: Some Recollections of a Texas and Las Vegas Gaming Operator. 1976; 99 pages, no photo pages, $15.
187 Dwayne Kling: Luck is the Residue of Design. 2000; 324 pages including photos, $24.
184 Lai King Chew: The Cosmo Club and Reno's Chinese Community. 2000; 122 pages, 1 photo page, $16.
Lots of info here, happy hunting!
