Sorry, my message was mis-interpreted. I, in no way blamed chip collectors for the demise of the tokens. Several responders, seemed to be overly confident of feeling that the chips are safe forever. I merely tried to express my personal feelings. I know many collect both tokens and chips. As a non-gambler, I am frustrated that the casino owners have caved-in to the investors. I am naive in the belief that the casinos care about collectors. After all, Treasure Island doesn't stage a costly pirate show to encourage folks to see the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean" or to visit Disneyland. They want folks to come-in and gamble. My remarks, are in criticism of the casino industry and I thank all my fellow collectors for taking time to respond. As a non-gambler, I thought of starting a coin cup collectors discussion group, but these cups also are disappearing!
