The chips where made originally for the Hard Rock Cafe in Las Vegas when it first opended up. They where made mainly for Money Clips and Key Chains.

There where 3 original Colors:
Red
White
Black

5000 of each where made.

There was a also a blue proto-type only 3 made.

The where only sold for a short time and then rejected by the hard rock. They where send back to the factory and then I heard different stories of what happended to them. Main one is that they got destroyed. I never heard how many seposly got sold.

When I first got in the hobby about 8 yrs ago, I saw them at the convention for the first time. 3 chip set was going for $1000 and one person had the blue chip at $1000 . 2 different dealers had a set but I can't recall who had them. Over the years you saw em around usually offered for $300 too $400 , it seemed like a lot of people wanted them but not many where willing to pay that price.

A couple of years ago I was working with 2 partners for about a 6 month period. And we aquired about 60 of these chips. This is hard to recall but I think it was like 25 white 20 black and 15 red. Red is defintely the hardest too find. I can't remember the details but I think we priced them at $150 each for the Black and White and $175 for the red. We sold them very fast except we had a few white left over. And they sold slowly.

After that I saw someone one ebay listing a few. Since then I haven't really seen them around until I found one at Pindex.

I figured if I start it at $49.99 it would be a fair price.

Well I hope that helps you out on these. Now remember this all from quick memory and I tried to recall #'s as good as possible.

I am also working on getting 6 more of these only whites. But its a long shot.
