60 people, x 5 chips is 300. It seems most people who wanted to, got through the line twice, so a high estimate would be 600 chips sold.
Ten per person isn't anything I'd complain about.
As for the release numbers, Hard Rock is trying to create a market and value for it's items, they don't care about the collectors (and I don't care about Hard Rock) That's their marketing strategy to create a stir and keep their name in the news. Kind of like a dog that looks at you and then pees on the new carpeting. It gets attention, even if it's not the right kind.
I have no need for any Hard Rock chips, ever, in my collection. And if people would stop acting like lemmings or sheep, by getting caught up in the "must have" mode, we'd see the chips available to everyone, for reasonable prices, instead of hoarded and leeked out for high profits.
Where did the other 400 chips go?
