As I am sure most of you are already aware that the Princess Cruise Lines ship Regal Princess was forced to return and dock in New York City because it was found to have the Norwalk virus which according to the news reports is a nasty virus that can survive and openly thrive on most surfaces including glass if it is not disinfected properly.
Now my question is since their chips are most likely a plastic or plastic/clay composite what will happen to the infected chips? Is there a chemical they can use to kill the virus without damaging the chips or will they have to destroy the chips and have Paul-Son produce new chips after the ship is completely disinfected which to me seems unlike scenario since the outbreak of viruses on cruises seem to be happening more and more and it doesn't seem financially viable to keep making new chips everytime a new virus is discovered on a cruise ship.
Since this is a serious issue I would like to suggest to the board that they issue a public warning to club members that they should exercise extreme caution when purchasing chips that are from the Regal Princess or any other cruise ship that may have recently (i.e. within the past year) had a virus problem.
