Yes, it was the start and we did have some fun. Those auctions were always a chat session as well. People donated chips for auction and the winner paid, but the money went to a donation.

The fact that Prodigy limited access, was always something that I fought against. We had a conference a couple of years ago in Austin when SBC took over. My suggestion was "open all communities and BBs to anyone."

A gasp came from the other BLs, as if I just swore in church.

Well now, anyone who wants, can access the free Yahoo BBs which have no moderation, wacky threading, and are scattered all over wihtout any seeming order.

So here we are and it's just one more case where people up top, at Prodigy, missed out on what was really going on with their system.

Over 100 subscribers lost (there are probably two left) just from the chip collectors.

For anyone who missed it, Mike was pretty much the board leader and you'll appreciate the fact that we took alot of heat from a then president of the club, who wasn't online at the time. (hint, someone who's very active now on this BB and greatly informed) that thought we were some sort of outlaws.

But that's all history and we are friends here.
