Since H&C is the mold, the two types would be LCV (long cane variety) and H&C. If SCV means standard cane variety or Short cane variety, I would say, it's the standard, not a variety. Kind of a contradiction in terms to call a normal mold a variety?
Below these are the Diamond from Bud Jones chip and the ROT variety. Right Over Top
ROT is another that newer chips may have and a small number of casinos have had both in play.
*** so why are both Bud Jones 8-suits molds, with variations in the order of the suits... still just plain "8-suits"? *** The third appears a different chip Mfg. and is also a different design.
The common ones, modern mold, are 8-suits, while the ones with the suits in order are 8SHCD (per Harvey's Guide to Collecting Gaming Checks and Chips. "Quick Reference" (c)1986)
Chip on the left is 8-suits, chip in the middle is 8SHCD, club on the right is ????.
