Nebraska has statewide Keno. Mostly computer generated numbers. There is live Keno in Scottsbluff at the County Parlor. Probably more elsewhere.

The County Place in Scottsbluff is ridiculous, no food, no drink, bright flourescent lights. Kind of like playing at the County Jail. We were there a couple of years ago and a couple had been playing all morning and two numbers they had marked over and over had not came up. They demanded a ball count. When the count was done there were only 86 balls. I called the local newspaper and The State of Nebraska immediately.

When it was all over, they wiggled out of it by saying it was an honest mistake. Honest mistake??? I beg your pardon!! I contacted a guy that is into heavy duty math and asked him about this. I was curious as to how much money this could have saved them over say, a years period. Obviously, being 2 balls short could have slewed the results on payout quite a bit. He concurred.

Was interesting to note that their revenues at the County Parlor went down significantly for the corresponding period a year later. Probably hard to discern if it was a case of people believing they were running a crooked operation or if having the other two numbers in made the difference. Probably a combination of both.

I think it was the State that instructed them to post a number inventory after each shift indicating the number of times each number came up for the shift period. That went on for awhile and then I was told that they quit doing it.
