The crap on the back can be taken off with warm soapy water. If that doesn't do it, nail polish remover and lightly rubbing will do the trick. Here is scan of what I think you are referring to, if so, they sell for around $10.00 on Ebay on a good day. They had a jillion different ashtrays.
