In theory the 8-SHCD is different from 8-suits.

All suits are opposite the same on the 8-SHCD while on the 8-suits the suits are never opposite the like pip.

If there are other variations, I haven't found one, but remember my resources are limited, and I haven't gone through every chip I had, just the three that stood out as variations.

As for the edge spots, it's still a 8-HSCD with one of the thousands of possible BJ edge and rim inserts.
