I noticed the card is not placed at the start of the scan page. Possibly placing it in the top corner may help the scanner recognize the item it is scanning and may do a better job. Don't know for sure but that is how I start all my scans with an HP pcs 950 all in one printer, scanner, fax and copier. I really like this machine.
