Pete, you lost me with the silver strike story.

What I was referring to was the comment that no one tells a seller that he is underpriced.
If I come across such an item and no one is bidding, I mark the auction as'watch' and hope that no one else comes across it and then slide in a snipe bid at the last possible moment.

Why not just place a bid?
Other E-Bayer can track you and I personally know of E-Bay buyers who will single out a particular bidder and track their tracking.
They claim that it saves them a lot of keyboard time
