I would not say they used a wooden block. More than likly they used a metal punch. The item they used on this cent is a pie shaped item, as you can see part of it just indise the rim of the coin in the field where the dates are. One give away that the coin is not real is that no other part of the coin is boubled as a second strike would have stamped out most of the first strick. If you take a look on the back of this coin you may see a dull spot where the stamping on the front may have disformeds the back side.
