I also clean almost all of my chips. Can you imagine what chipguide.com or my book would look like if they were full of pictures of dirty chips?

On the other hand though, I do not clean chips that I have on my trade list and I would prefer that chips I get from others in a trade are not cleaned. Why you ask? Because some people don't know how to clean chips correctly and end up doing more damage to them than they do good. I would prefer to have the choice and I know that many of the people I trade with prefer it that way.
