That could be done but my impression is that an easier and maybe safer way of doing what you suggest is to walk over to the Barbary Coast and take the Coast Shuttle to Gold Coast then cross at the light over to Palms.

The problem with your suggestion is that, as I recall, the entrance to RIO and the location for the shuttles is not conveniently located to the street corner and traffic lights that lead over to Gold Coast. I always find going from Gold Coast over to RIO is a hassle. I usually stay at The Orleans and shuttle it to the strip or to Gold Coast. The problem that we had is that when we got off the shuttle you go to your right as you exit the shuttle and follow around the Gold Coast and along the side of their garage. Then you have to walk up the street, cross at the intersection and walk back down the street to get to the entrance of the RIO. Or, if you are brave enough, you can cross mid block and go straight accross. We happened to do it when traffic was moderate and could find a place to cross. However traffic seemed as though it could be a little busy at times posing an unsafe situation. That was my impression though.

The Coast Shuttles run about every 15 minutes from the Flamingo Blvd entrance to the Barbary Coast. They will take you to either the Gold Coast or Orleans. If you want to go to RIO than by all means their shuttle would probably be the best from Harrah's but if you want to visit the Gold Coast, or Palms, I would take the shuttle from the Barbary Coast. It just seems a bit easier and safer to walk over to Barbary than it seems to walk from RIO to Gold Coast. To go to Palms, exit the shuttle and follow to your left rather than the right. Go up to the end of the building and turn left along the sidwalk along the side of the property there. Walk up to the light. That is right there at the driveway entrance to the Palms. Had I known How easy it was to get over to Palms I would have gone over there a year ago and maybe a couple times my last trip. I didn't realize any of that though until my last day, a few hours before leaving Las Vegas.
