I have played in some of the "ticket-in/ticket-out" casinos in Vegas (specifically the Stations) but generally where I play they still allow you get your fingers dirty. It is said that it is for our, the customer's benefit, that we have the TITO system as there will be no long wait for fills, no dirty fingers, no fouled machines. Of course, the real reason they change is because the casinos need fewer employees...and a lot of people play out to the last nickel (quarater) (dollar) rather than fuss around with small tickets--I found three that were thrown away--made 35 cents! But back to the "no wait" promise. That proved illlusory at Borgata. They have many automatic bill/ticket cashing machines and time after time the machines were not functioning. Long lines Friday and Saturday at the cashiers; and my best stories: I went up to a cashier--huge line at one station and just one old cuss at the other; so I got in line and watched him pull out one by one crumpled bills--must have had more than a hundred and each one had to be uncrumpled by the teller; took ten minutes for him to finish excavating crumpled bills. Later, similar situation:long line at window #1 so I go behind a huge fat man who is waiting for a pay off on tickets. I look in and the teller has two stacks of tickets each about 2 inches or more thick with rubber bands around them. She has to take each of what must be several hundred tickets and "fingerprint" it, enter the total on her computer and go to the next one. I returned to the long line and finished my $20 ticket while the guy was still standing there. Convenience my sore foot!
