Mark has a reserve on his chips. He says the reserve is face value of the chips. I get that part.

Mark starts the auction at $0.99 cents. I got that part too, but I don't get it. Why not start the auction at $11.00 ? Okay, so you save 10 or 15 cents.

The bidders bid $0.99. I don't get it Why not bid what the reserve is ? (Assuming you want the chips) You know you won't get them at $0.99.
