OK... here's the deal.
I guess the back-up battery source on My STUPID (electric) smoke detector must need replacing, because the dang thing is chirping like a cricket on a hot-plate.

EVEN with a ladder, I'm too short to reach it.
Short of renting a 20' cherry picker (which might ruin my carpet) or buying a 12' extension ladder, is there a trick or tool to get to these things????

My kitchen is on the other side of that pot shelf...
What do you think of jumping on my kitchen counter, climbing on top of the refrig, then pulling myself up across the pot shelf and try to extend myself 4' beyond the shelf to reach the detector??

Naaaaw... I didn't think that'd work either.
