This is the envelope from a letter Sam Nason sent to his sister. I will have to hunt through my notes but I think it was 1935. Sam sent his sister $200 every month for over 25 years. He also sent the widow of Joesph Bauer $200 a month until the day he died, again I would have to check notes but I think it was the early 1960's.
I will not post the actual letter. Some things need to be private. Sam believed not only his family but families of deceased partners need to be taken care of. It was not unusual for him to support the famlies of underlings that did jail time, for however long it took. He felt he was honor bound.
Sam was the brains of the Nason gambling machine. Harold seen that no one interfered. Harolds son Danny (85 now) is my friend. He still comes to the Palms for lunch once a month.
