Probably Not, But I don't think it would have taken much more.
I have watched Paul's different bidding styles. At that level he very often puts in several bids and usually they are fairly close together. For example $1050.00, 1055.00, 1060.00. It can be a trap at times, and an expensive one. In this case, maybe not, as he didn't have the tray.
The Great Monte Carlo auction was exciting, but Paul didn't need the tray, and he just stuffed it to Ted big time. Shortly, thereafter Ted bought another Monte Carlo that was toast for around $225.00. About a year later I saw him bid on a couple low-end trays. Haven't seen him around since.
Sure, Paul does get out. I am sure you saw a couple $1000.00+ trays that Skip got. On one his final bid was $999.00, looked like a trap to me. They are both interesting people to watch. Puts a little pzazz in the normal hum drum Ebay auction.
