Yes it is a real chip. It has the Paul-Son advertising on the back.
MGM rejected the chip after they was made, at least that is what I was told. Chips were destroyed. I have only seen one un-notched about 5 years ago.
I had one and got this one yesterday with a bunch of PS sample chips.
