Check your machine for spyware. Some websites use tracking software that parks itself in your cookies files that is what is known as "data miner" software. While it doesn't search files on your hard drive before your computer accepted the cookie, it will track your online activities for advertising (spam) purposes. Lavasoft Ad-aware is free software that will scan your computer and get rid of these data miners. I bought this computer in February and have already quarantined over 300 data miner cookies.
