Greg, I'm sorry if I've been the source of some of your returned mail. I used the doctored address for a few days before I remembered that it would cause you a returned message if somebody replied to me.
I changed internet providers a few months back and have been extremely careful about using my new e-mail address when registering online and posting on websites. However, I have already started receiving a limited amount of spam, and the only thing I can attribute it to is those times where I posted here or somewhere else using my e-mail address. The use of "spiders" to go out and search web pages for e-mail address is widespread. I feel pretty confident that if I were to return to using my regular e-mail address on the board I would be back up to 50 pieces of spam per day before long.
Of course, if Greg needs to outlaw the practice to keep the board running smoothly, I'll gladly comply and use an alternate address that's already on all the spammer's lists.
On my own website, I use some javascript language that breaks the address up so the spiders can't recognize it, but still allows anyone viewing the page to click a link and send me an e-mail.
