I think that term goes back to the days when they were more like lounges. The ladies rooms had sofas, so that they could rest if necessary(attack of the vapors?). I was told that there's an obscure law in Massachusetts that stated that "facilities" or had to have sofas for the convenience of the ladies. Must run, I feel an attack coming on... Oh, where is my Lydia M. Pinkhams Remedy???
