A few weeks ago there was a thread regarding a meeting that our club officers had with the Nevada Gaming Commission.I was wondering if there are any further developments
I'm sure that we have all read lengthy threads on this board in regard to
1- The alleged abuses concerning Hard Rock releases, their re issue of chips short quantities being issued and unavailability of chips to collectors
2- A certain chipper who was mentioned in regard to "cornering" the market on a Harrah's March Madness Chip
3- Another certain chipper who allegedly had either influence or control on certain Opera House releases
4- Casinos having "chip lists" for their favored clients and probably many more that don't come to mind at the moment
We seem to complain about things like these constantly yet it was suggested we shouldn't complain to the Nevada Gaming Commission
It also appears these so called abuses continue. Recently someone stated that they were unable to buy the new Station Casino Hooters chips as they were being sold to dealers on Thursday and not available to the public until Saturday. Mind you I have no problem with profit, dealers or business I do however have a problem with a double standard so my question is WHO DO WE COMPLAIN TO?
Now that officers of the club have established a dialogue with gaming, is there anything in the works where we can take our complaints
to our BOD and then have them take up issues of merit with the Gaming Board?
It seems to me, that when gaming refused to authorize the issuance of our annual club chips it was akin to kicking the dog, WE as a group obviously being the dog.
Maybe they just don't want to deal with complaints, Was this retaliation on their part?
If in fact chips are regarded as gaming equipment then why do they even allow commemorative chips?
I don't think the gaming board is that naive that they believe all these chips will stay in the casino's anymore than all house chips, tokens, roulettes or dice.
I don't think anyone has ever been in the midst of a poker game where some one has said, I call that raise, wait is that a 4th of July chip I see there,
let me get a good look at it.
It is more than obvious that these chips WILL walk.
It appears to me we have several double standards here.
I feel that if the club establishes a way for its members to deal with these issues, fine.
I otherwise feel that where warranted, its is the right of everyone to complain. As it is apparent none of these problems are going away by sticking our heads in the sand
