Gene; This is the problem with repaired chips... whether by Whalen or others. I'm sure that Bruce Landau knew the chip had been repaired because it is my understanding that David S. told him about the repair when he sold it to Bruce.

When chipper's pass away ... sometimes their knowledge about certain things dies with them. Fortunately, David Sarles knew about the chip ... which Howdy said was hardly noticeable and had escaped his inspection. Had this chip been offered on ebay instead of the club auction ... or offered for sale privately ... I wonder if the expert repair would have been discovered before the fact?
