I agree that that is a terrible thing, and would hope that it is also very rare. But I would hate to have children banned from anywhere that idiot parents can be irresponsible - that would cover a lot more places than just casinos.

When we were in Vegas a couple fo weeks ago, my wife and I travelled to Vegas alone for 4 days, and then the rest of our family joined us for a week (our daughter, grandma, uncle and sometimes friends as well, although not on this trip). Jackie and I got to relax by the pool, hit the casinos, do some chipping...all the adult stuff, and then when the rest of the family arrived, we took advantage of all the other things that Vegas has to offer - great hotels at great prices (we stayed at Paris by ourselves, as that has better gaming in my opinion, but moved to the Monte Carlo when our family arrived as that is a better location for families - great pool area, bigger choice of places to eat, and the Haagen Daz shop!), great weather, the fantastic places around Vegas (Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon for example), great places to eat (in and outside the casinos) and even just the Strip itself, which our daughter loved (she's only 3, so bright lights are great fun!). There are also lots of other things which were great fun with Emily (our daughter) - the penguin feeding at the Flamingo, the lions at MGM, Shark Reef (we didn't make that one, but maybe on another trip?) and so on.

I guess that my point is, Vegas is a great place for a holiday for all these reasons, even if you don't want to gamble and even if you only stay for a short time before heading to other places. For the time our family was there together, we maybe had a couple of short spells alone where Granny wanted to hit the pool or babysit for us, but essentially a family holiday.

Banning children would not only mean we would either be forced to a) Not come to Vegas or b) Only come without the family. It also means that the majority of good responsible parents suffer for the actions of a few idiots, which I don't agree with under most circumstance.

Just my views,

Jason.
