Sorry I missed you in Vegas last week...
I haven't sold a chip on eBay in a couple years, but when I was selling them, I paid for postage and insurance, and I bought insurance for everything that I sold. ...even a $1 chip that sold for $3. Obviously I wasn't trying to make money on those sales, but I wanted a record of every package that I sent through the post office to avoid any possible claims that I didn't send the chip(s). While I could have self insured by just sending another chip if the buyer didn't receive the package for about half of those sales, I couldn't for the other half and chose to insure every sale, at my expense. Was it a waste of money? You could look at it that way when viewing the entire picture, but I preferred to shoulder the expense to give me one less reason for ulcers or migraines.
