Yes, a re-order.
There is no doubt they were made at the Burt Co in Maine.
IMO, there is no doubt they were shipped to Paul-Son or there would have been a notation on the card.
Once the chips are made, PS would have to pay for them. PS would require the customer to pay for them, whether they were to be used or not.
Using todays order and production times, this order would have been placed 4 to 6 weeks prior to the date on the card. That puts the original order on the tables 4 to 6 weeks prior to the dates on the cards.
If the re-logoing of the casino was happening at that time, I guess the chips might not have hit the tables. If that was the case, there could be 2,500 UNC $5 chips in someones closet.
I am trying to get records on the HQ fron PS. I believe the PS order records would tell us the entire story. Since they sold the chips, they would have furnished the dice, tables, table signs, and all gaming related equipment. HQ would have used at least two different brands of dice. PS would have been one. BJ or TKS would have been the other in my opinion. BJ records for those years would have been destroyed, TKS dice is now being produced at PS. Not sure about those records.
PS has been less than helpful since B&G took over. To be fair to them, they have 4 companies folded into one and the staff is much busier than when I used to ask for help.
