Vic, if they are newer chips and it is Elmer's glue, take them off the board and let them soak in water to remove the glue.

If they are older clay chips you might want to try to pick the glue off (you can't soak a clay chip since it will become soft and you might damage it worst than leaving the glue on).

I would try it on one chip first to see the results before trying it on all of the chips.
