I scoured the convention for two Mapes "Wheel" chips I needed to complete my Mapes collection. One (more on the other later) was N5216 listed as "Orange". TCR also lists N6877 "Dk Peach" which I thought I had. To make a long story short, I now have four orangish peachish Wheel chips and I can't tell which is which!!

I have scanned all four with the Mapes Orange $25 (N5235) and the Riviera "Chips, chips, chips" that we got at the convention for color comparison.

Clearly these four are different and one of them (bottom row, far right) has the tighter closely spaced lettering. My suspicion is that they were all intended to be the same color, just different issues or dye lots or aging because I can't imagine that a roulette dealer would be happy trying to differentiate between them when they cleaned off and resorted the chips on the board after the ball fell into the wheel.

What do you think, one color or two?
