Most casino's offer low-stakes tournaments (7-stud, hold'em...). Check the schedules at your local casino's and give one a try. Unless there are a bunch of re-buy's, your investment will be minimal. The card-room staff should let you know how the game is run and the dealers should be of assistance as well.
