Since it's not included above, the same mold appears to be used in C&J and Paulson H&C chips, in some instances. You will see that the cane is at a different angle on some designs and it appears identical to the C&J hat and cane...

The difference appears to be the shiny surface, inside the hat on C&J chips. Which may be due to highly polished molds AND/OR slightly different chip composition.

Both of the chips in the close-up below are Paulson H&C from modern times. 25c Golden Gate, Las Vegas. Neither is a C&J chip.
