When you contact the seller, find out how much he actually insured it for. In a discussion with the postmaster of my small town, an item can be insured for its real value, not necessarily what it sells for on eBay. When I insure items that I mail to buyers, I insure them for replacement value, which is usually higher than the final bid. Only once did the post office damage some goods. The insurance paid the retail value, without giving anyone a hard time. Hope this helps.
