...so I'd just like to point out the following.

The year you spend being one year old is not the first year of your life. It's the second year of your life. The first year of your life is the year leading up to your first birthday.

But I'm OK with the fact that the first millennium was only 999 years long. My only regret is that no amount of medical advancement will keep me around until anybody cares again. Actually, I'm OK with that too.
