My father and my two aunts were born in Texas. My "Mother Dixie" (God forbid should a grandkid call her "grandmothe") and my favorite aunt always said when it came time for me to leave, "Y'all come back, Y'ere." And I loved the sound (although in all other respects they had about the same southern drawl as a person raised in Michigan. So you sure didn't insult this son of a Texan (who has sometimes been called a son of something else).
