All they have to do is what Yahoo Auctions has installed.

The auction is extended 5 minutes if the last bid comes in the last few minutes (within the last 5 minutes). This extension continues until nobody bids for 5+ minutes.

This would render current sniping software useless!

Problem solved Seller gets more money Buyer gets the item if he/she really wanted it and wants to pay the money for it.
