Several years ago an 80 year old man contacted me after he read my articles on Chequers. His father ran several illegal dens in French Lick. He had been a craps dealer in them for his father.
He had written a very long, 20-30 page story about gambling in French Lick. It was intended to be published but never happened.
He sent me a copy and it is very interesting. I sent Paul Bender a copy. Mine is in one of more than 100 boxes in storage.
I need to look for it, I remember The French Lick Springs Hotel was mentioned in it.

There is no doubt there was organized illegal gambling in French Lick.
I have the Mason card on the PRC hub that was always attributed to the Piping Rock Club in Saratoga Springs, NY. It was delivered to Peter J Sullivan at the Elite club in French Lick. Peter might have taken the chips to the Piping Rock (as we know he ran gambling there also) but they started out in French Lick.
