I'm not sure what you mean Duke.
I like to keep the Chipco backed samples when they are of chips that I already collect. I usually find them in junk boxes for $5 or less although the higher denominations usually run more than that.
In my mind, a notched chip without the Chipco back is usually worth more than one with a Chipco back, but there are some exceptions. For example, if it were a notched chip, no Chipco back and was a denomination of $25 or less, then to me it is worth next to nothing because I would usually have an unnotched version in my collection. If I didn't have, or couldn't get the unnotched version then the nothced version would have more appeal.
Higher denominations of notched chips with no Chipco back are worth more to me because in most cases it would be the only way I would get that denomination in my collection. I've paid as much as $50 for some of them. Then again, they are nice to have but since I don't normally collect them, I don't have that burning desire and won't pay too much for them.
