Monday Morning Book Review! grin

I know this isn't exactly the venue for a literary discussion, so I'll make this short and sweet. (And please forgive me if this book has been previously highlighted here on the ChipBoard.)

I just had a most enjoyable "read" over the weekend - it's called "Amarillo Slim In A World Full Of Fat People" - the autobiography of Amarillo Slim Preston.

It's basically a collection of funny, sad, fascinating, and often outrageous gambling stories, with plenty of stuff about Las Vegas from the 40's into the 90's, including the early days of the World Series of Poker.

Great stories and observations about Benny Binion, Steve Wynn, Nick the Greek, Jimmy the Greek, Bob Stupak, Johnny Moss, Doyle Brunson, Titanic Thompson, Minnesota Fats, Sailor Roberts, et. al.

Anyway, it's a good, quick read and I think you poker players (especially Texas Hold 'Em fans) might want to check it out.
