Anyone else on Party Poker have this happen?

On May 22nd, I received an email from PartyPoker that a "friend" that I had referred had opened an account and that I would receive a $50 credit as soon as they played 50 raked hands. I thought this was strange since I haven't played on PartyPoker in nearly a year and I hadn't referred anyone lately, but I saved the email. I also did not recognize the email address of my "friend".

Just a few minutes ago, I received an email from PartyPoker stating that this same person "is currently registered as a play money player with us and hasn’t been able to open a real money account with us.

We just wanted to remind you that if (deleted) starts playing at our real money tables, you will receive $50 under our Tell-a-Friend program.

If you so desire, you may help (deleted) open a real money account with us by transferring $50 to his/her account by using our instant Inter-Account Transfer facility." It also provides a link.

This smells more fishy than Tommy's new tank, but the emails look pretty official.

Has anyone else received something like this?
