My wife picked these up at a local thrift store. I took them to the Orleans and asked a contact if she knew anything about them.

She answered that they were handed out on Opening Day as Mardi Gras dabloons.

Over the years, people bring them in and try to play them in the Check Cashing slot machine. Those tokens are also aluminum (green), but are about three or four times thicker, and they don't fit because of the deformations around the edges.
