For instance, I'm one of the ignorant ones...
I mean, what currency is used in PR? Dollars? Pesos? Is a "$1" chip in P.R. equal in value to a $1 American? Or is there an exchange rate? If I take $10 american dollars and go to a PR casino, will that buy me 10 $1 chips? more? less? (and am I even using the right currency symbol here??).
I mean, I own 3 of them (in denoms greater than $1 that I bought on eBay for $3. If they can be cashed for face value, why can I buy them at less than face?
Plus, we don't know which of these casinos are open, closed, fantasy, fake, etc.
I think a lot of this factors into an insecurity in collecting PR chips (and any other foreign chips as far as I know).
Personally, I think the CIC PR's are some of the coolest chips out there. I'd like to have more, but I'm saving my money for the convention in June
