IT WAS WAR TIME - YOU DROVE WHAT YOU GOT. grin

and as for John's Z's comments (who said it was a Model T?), in 1951 I and two evil companions drove a Model A to Long Beach, Calif. and back looking for work, finding it but not enough to trade cars. We could go a steady 40 mph on the flats; about 10 mph going up mountains; had a hot plate in the rear where the third person would boil coffee and cook soup. People would pass us and waive. We didn't pass anyone but waived anyway. Slept outdoors on bed rolls except one night in Wyoming when I heard a rustling sound and we all crawled back into the car with the windows rolled mostly up.
