In Atlantic City you pay 5% up front on a $20 bet and 4% up front on a $25 bet. If you win you do not receive correct odds. There a 2.5% tax on a $40 payoff and a 2% tax on a $50 payoff.

Simply put, on either a $20 or $25 buy you pay $1 on the buy then receive correct odds less $1 on the payoff.

In Vegas there is no up front $1 vig. There is, however, the $1 tax on the payoff.
