WHAT I DID; WHAT I DO (LONG POST)
In Response To: Binder Display Question ()

I began with a binder for each of design clay chips sorted by Dale Seymour's codes; then a binder for a few ivories; then a binder for a few casino chips. Now, I have binders for the following and I put the chips in alphabetical order. What I haven't done and should have done was to use only three of the slots on each row for each casino and thus have room to add new chips without having to move a whole panel of them. Grrrr. grin

Here are my present binder categories:

AC (Alphabetically by casino and then by denomination with earliest first);
California (three volumes alphabetically)
Colorado (two volumes by city and then alphabetically);
Deadwood (& South Dakota) alphabetically by casino
Designs (Still by Seymour Category and then by codes--two Advertising binders; four animals & birds; five inlays (generic roulette chips))
Fantasy: An unorganized mess
Foreign & Cruise ships: An unorganized mess in one binder
Indians (two volumes by states and then alphabetically)
Ivories: In separate display chestsases
Las Vegas & Clark County (alphabetically w/o regard to city)
Nevada (four volumes - alphabetically w/o regard to city)
River Boats (by States and then alphabetically)
U.S. Illegals (by States and have to reorganize them alphabetically within the states--now its a hodge podge)
Crest & Seals and Reverse Die Cuts - random (as I remove a C&S chip from it's present location (usually from illegals) I leave a blank flip with the information and new lcoation)
Elks Clubs (Just starting to pull all my Elks Club chips from the States and put into separate binders.) (Leave a blank flip w/information & location when I pull the chips).
Unknowns (two volumes random)
Duplicates (Several volumes: Illegals; C&S; Nevada; Las Vegas)

Left to be done--have to pull all licensed casino or card clubs from my U.S. Illegal States binders
and have a second category--this mostly concerns Florida, Montana and Washington card clubs. I would like to do the same with my California but I do not have enough info to know which clubs were licensed and which were not--except for a few like the S.S. Rex & Tangos--so all California clubs, illegal or otherwise are in the same volumes.)
I also have a neat four drawer sewing cabinet where I have my best design duplicate chips stored.

The remainder of my collection consisting of 100 or so cases, carousels, etc. fill up what used to be my kid's room and closet leaving space for spiders. grin
