I have to say that I've played 21 in Nevada since the 1960's and had never heard the snapper term until I began collecting chips about 10 years ago.

I'm not sure it originated as a term used by players or dealers in actual play.

Trimble may have started it to encourage the sale of all the Four Queens $2.50 chips he had made [g].
